From Clay Model to Finished Bronze
Our master sculptors begin with a detailed 1:1 clay model, carefully shaping every muscle and contour to match the breed’s unique anatomy. For a Friesian, the neck arch and feathered legs require particular attention to detail—these features define the breed and must be captured with precision.
The clay model is then used to create a bronze casting using the traditional lost-wax method. After casting, the sculpture undergoes extensive hand-polishing to achieve a smooth, refined surface. The final step is the patina application—our artisans use traditional heat-based coloring techniques to create a deep, rich black-brown finish that mimics the Friesian’s signature coat. Over time, the patina deepens, giving the sculpture an increasingly natural and timeless look.
