Frequently Asked
Questions

Everything you need to know before commissioning a bronze sculpture -- from casting process to global shipping and installation.

About Bronze Sculptures

We use the traditional lost-wax casting (cire perdue) method -- the same technique used by Renaissance masters and museum-quality foundries worldwide. A clay or wax model is sculpted by hand, encased in a ceramic shell mold, then filled with molten bronze. This process preserves every fine surface detail, from hair texture to fabric folds, with exceptional dimensional accuracy. Lost-wax casting is widely regarded as the gold standard for fine art bronze, and it is the only method we use.
What bronze alloy do you use, and how durable is it for outdoor display?
We use high-grade silicon bronze (approximately 95-97% copper), the same alloy used in major public monuments across Europe and North America. It offers superior corrosion resistance, structural strength, and excellent casting detail. Each sculpture is treated with outdoor-grade sealants and protective coatings after finishing. Properly maintained, our bronzes are designed to last centuries -- suitable for coastal estates, alpine gardens, humid climates, and freeze-thaw cycles.
What patina options are available, and can I match a specific finish?
We offer a wide range of hand-applied patina finishes, including classic brown, antique verde green, natural weathered, dark black, golden highlight, and multi-tone artistic finishes. All patinas are applied using chemical and heat techniques by experienced artisans, then sealed for protection. If you have a reference photo, a specific color swatch, or an existing sculpture you wish to match, simply share it with us -- we will produce a finish sample for your approval before proceeding.
How do I care for and maintain a bronze sculpture long-term?
Bronze is one of the lowest-maintenance sculpture materials available. For outdoor pieces, we recommend a light application of paste wax (such as Johnson's Paste Wax or Renaissance Wax) once or twice per year to preserve the patina and protect against moisture. For indoor sculptures, occasional dusting and a soft cloth wipe-down is sufficient. Avoid harsh chemical cleaners or abrasive pads. Over time, outdoor bronzes will develop a natural verdigris patina -- this is entirely normal and considered a mark of authenticity and age.
Are bronze sculptures a sound long-term investment?
Quality bronze sculptures hold and often appreciate in value over time, particularly large-scale, limited-edition, or custom commissions. Beyond financial value, bronze sculptures significantly enhance the perceived prestige and market value of estates, hotel lobbies, corporate headquarters, and luxury developments. Our clients in Europe and North America regularly commission pieces as both artistic statements and long-term asset additions to their properties and collections.

Custom Orders & Design Process

Can I commission a fully custom bronze sculpture from my own design or reference?
Absolutely. Custom commissions are our specialty. You may provide reference photos, architectural drawings, sketches, 3D files, or simply a written description of your vision. Our team of clay model artists and 3D designers will develop a scaled model or digital render for your review and approval before any casting begins. We accommodate single unique pieces, limited editions, and series production -- all with full OEM/ODM support including custom nameplates, certificates, and branded packaging if required.
What sizes are available, and is there a maximum scale you can produce?
We produce sculptures from small tabletop pieces (under 30 cm) all the way to monumental large-scale installations exceeding 5-10 metres in height. Our foundry in Quyang has the engineering infrastructure to handle oversized commissions for public plazas, estate entrances, and landmark architecture. For very large pieces, sculptures are cast in sections and professionally assembled on-site. There is effectively no upper size limit -- please share your project requirements and we will advise on feasibility, structure, and logistics.
How long does it take to produce a custom bronze sculpture?
Production timelines vary based on size and complexity. As a general guide:
  • Small to medium pieces (under 1.5m): approximately 4-8 weeks
  • Life-size sculptures (1.5-2.5m): approximately 8-14 weeks
  • Large-scale or monumental works (3m+): 16-30+ weeks depending on complexity

We provide photo and video updates at each major production stage, and online inspection can be arranged before packaging. Please factor in shipping transit time (typically 3-6 weeks by sea to Europe or North America) when planning your project timeline.

Do you provide structural engineering support for large outdoor installations?
Yes. For large-scale outdoor installations, our engineers assess the project site conditions -- including climate zone, wind load, soil type, and anchoring requirements -- and design appropriate internal steel armatures and base mounting systems. We supply detailed installation drawings and technical specifications for your local contractor or landscape architect. If needed, we can coordinate with your on-site team directly to ensure safe and precise installation.

Shipping, Export & Logistics

How do you ship bronze sculptures to Europe or the United States?
We ship worldwide using the most appropriate method for each piece:
  • Sea freight -- preferred for life-size and large sculptures; most cost-effective for Europe, USA, Canada, and Australia (typically 3-6 weeks transit)
  • Air freight -- for smaller pieces or urgent orders (5-10 business days)
  • Express courier (DHL / FedEx / UPS) -- door-to-door for small sculptures (3-7 business days)

All sculptures are packed in reinforced export wooden crates with foam cushioning, moisture-barrier wrapping, and shock protection. We provide full export documentation, including commercial invoice, packing list, certificate of origin, and bill of lading.

What trade terms do you offer -- do you handle customs clearance?
We support the following Incoterms: EXW, FOB, CIF, and DDP (DDP available for select countries). DDP (Delivered Duty Paid) is our most comprehensive option -- we handle everything including export clearance, international freight, import customs, and final delivery to your address. This is particularly popular with European and North American clients who prefer a fully managed, hassle-free experience. Please contact us to confirm DDP availability for your specific country.
How do I track my order and stay informed during production?
We provide proactive updates at every key production milestone: clay model completion, casting, patina and finishing, quality inspection, and pre-shipment. Updates are shared via email, WhatsApp, or video call -- whichever you prefer. Before packaging, we send a comprehensive set of high-resolution photos and a video walkthrough of the finished piece. Live online video inspection can also be arranged upon request. Once shipped, we provide tracking information and shipping documents promptly.

Pricing, Quality & Guarantees

How is pricing determined for a custom bronze sculpture?
Pricing is based on several factors: sculpture size and weight, complexity of design and surface detail, patina and finishing requirements, base or pedestal inclusion, and quantity. As a foundry with over 43 years of experience and direct control over the entire production chain -- from clay modeling to casting to finishing -- we offer highly competitive pricing without compromising on art quality. We will provide a detailed itemised quote after reviewing your project brief. There are no hidden fees; all costs including packaging and agreed shipping terms are clearly stated upfront.
What quality guarantees do you offer?
Every sculpture we produce is backed by a 30-year quality guarantee covering material integrity and casting defects. Our quality control process includes strict inspection of bronze alloy materials, dimensional accuracy checks against approved models, surface finish and weld inspection, and a final pre-shipment review with photographic documentation. We do not ship any piece that does not meet our standards. If a piece arrives damaged in transit, we work with you to resolve the issue promptly and professionally.
Do you work with interior designers, landscape architects, and art consultants?
Yes -- trade professionals are among our most valued long-term partners. We offer flexible collaboration models for designers, architects, consultants, and art dealers, including OEM/ODM production with your branding, discreet white-label fulfilment, and preferential pricing structures for ongoing or volume projects. We understand the demands of working on behalf of discerning end-clients and are experienced in meeting tight project deadlines, providing detailed technical drawings, and supporting the full procurement and specification process.
