The title of Our Lady of San Juan Del Valle originated in a small town in Mexico that was established after the Spanish conquest. This is what the Roman Catholics there call the Virgin Mary. There are stories of miracles about Our Lady of San Juan. According to the church, in 1623, while a family of acrobats was performing in town, their youngest daughter lost her balance and fell to her death. Then when people put the portrait of the Virgin Mary on the child, the little girl came back to life.
Inspired by the original image of San Juan de Los Lagos, the priest commissioned the revered statue and placed it in the San Juan Church.
